# Ethereum

*The settlement and data-availability layer under Robinhood Chain.*

Ethereum is the base layer Robinhood Chain settles to, and its influence is structural: Robinhood Chain posts data to Ethereum blobs for availability and uses ETH as its gas token, so it inherits Ethereum-grade settlement security while running as an Arbitrum-stack L2 above it. There is no chain-native gas token — transactions on Robinhood Chain are paid in ETH.
